On September 23, 2025 local time in the United States, Fulai presented its independently developed second-generation flexible sensor technology at the Global Humanoid Robot Forum and discussed tactile sensing and embodied-intelligence applications with robot companies, research institutions and industry partners.
Second-generation flexible tactile technology
The presentation focused on robotic touch and electronic skin. The second-generation products emphasize genuine flexibility, conformal coverage of complex curved surfaces and three-dimensional force sensing. They can acquire contact pressure and force changes at fingertips, finger pads and palms for fine grasping and safe interaction.
Compared with devices limited to flat or local surfaces, a flexible structure is better suited to complex hand geometry. Multi-region coverage helps determine contact location, grasp state and object slip and supplies feedback beyond vision.
From product display to application validation
The forum brought together robot OEMs, component suppliers, algorithm companies and research organizations, creating an opportunity to compare the products against real requirements. Fulai used demonstrations and technical discussions to understand hand geometry, data interfaces, range and durability requirements and to advance adaptation and joint validation.
Integration requires coordination among mechanical structure, acquisition hardware, control algorithms and software. The event therefore addressed not only the sensor device but also the match between system integration, data formats and target tasks.
North American market and partner network
Public reporting indicates that Fulai uses Apex Sensing LLC as a base for connecting tactile technology with North American robotics applications. The region hosts robot OEMs, dexterous-hand companies and research teams that can support testing, customization and ecosystem cooperation.
Overseas expansion still requires product certification, customer testing, supply-chain preparation and delivery infrastructure. Fulai plans to combine local communication with its China-based R&D and manufacturing capabilities.
Touch as an important input to embodied intelligence
Embodied intelligence combines vision, hearing, touch and proprioception. Touch directly reflects physical contact and is valuable when handling fragile objects, soft materials, tools and human collaboration. Its system value will continue to be tested as robots move from demonstrations to real tasks.
